Solid development despite global economic crisis

In view of the favorable development of the Ansbach-based Hydrometer Group and its increasing importance for the Diehl Group as a whole, the company will be managed as Metering Corporate Division from June 1, 2010.

The Nuremberg-based Diehl group acquired the Hamburg-based DASELL Cabin Interior GmbH, a supplier for aircraft cabin elements, from Airbus and will integrate the company into the Corporate Division Diehl Aerosystems. The contracts for the transition with Airbus have been signed in accordance with Thales, our long-standing partner in the aerospace business. Thales is considering to join this new acquisition at a later point in time.

The Diehl Group took over the energy provider EVB Energie AG located in Velbert, with currently 318 employees.

Dipl.-Volkswirt Rainer Ott, long-standing member of the Diehl Executive Board and President of the Diehl Aerosystems Corporate Division Board, will turn 64 next year. Mr. Ott will leave Diehl on September 30, 2010, in line with his life planning, to go into well-deserved retirement, and will continue to advise Diehl and the Corporate Division Aerosystems.

Despite this year's difficult general economic conditions, Diehl Metall reaffirms its commitment to the Röthenbach location by putting into operation a new casting plant worth 6 million euros.

Under a decree issued by the President of the French Republic on July 8, 2009, Dr.-Ing. E.h. Thomas Diehl, Shareholder and Chief Executive Officer of our corporation, was awarded the insignia of a Knight of the French National Order of the Legion of Honor (Insignes de Chevalier dans l’Ordre nationale de la Légion d’Honneur).
