Laupheim, October 8, 2008 – Following the successful negotiations and sales agreement between EADS/Airbus and Diehl/Thales, ownership of the Airbus plant in Laupheim, Germany, has now been transferred to Diehl and Thales. The transfer was effective as of October 1, 2008 and the plant now operates under the name of "Diehl Aircabin GmbH", in which Diehl holds a 51% interest and Thales 49%.

With effect from October 1, 2008, we have dissolved our External Relations Corporate Department in order to intensify direct contact of our executives in charge of operations with Parliament and Government.

With effect from July 1, 2008, the Shareholders of the Diehl Group have appointed Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Schweickart (64), Chairman of ALTANA Kulturstiftung gGmbH and former Chief Executive Officer of ALTANA AG, to the Policy Board of Diehl Stiftung & Co. KG. He is also Chairman of the Board.

Today, the negotiations between EADS/Airbus and Diehl/Thales on the acquisition of Airbus' Laupheim site were concluded successfully with the signature of a sales agreement. Since May 31, 2008, the final negotiations on Laupheim had been conducted exclusively with Diehl/Thales. Transfer of ownership is planned for this autumn, as soon as the remaining conditions have been fulfilled.

Attorney Werner Diehl, Shareholder and Vice Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Diehl Group, has today been awarded the Bavarian Order of Merit by Prime Minister Dr. Günther Beckstein in Munich.

EADS/ Airbus has announced today that it has selected Diehl and Thales as the preferred bidder to enter into an exclusive negotiation phase for the acquisition of Airbus’ Laupheim site. Diehl and Thales welcome this decision and will enter the negotiations confidently, with the aim of agreeing on an overall package attractive to all parties involved.

RA Werner Diehl will leave his position as chairman of the Supervisory Board of Diehl Stiftung & Co. KG on June 1st, 2008, on completion of his 62nd birthday.

In memory of his mother who died in 1965, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Diehl Stiftung & Co. KG, Nürnberg, Mr. Werner Diehl, Attorney, has initiated estab-lishment of the "Irmgard-Diehl Children's Foundation".

Dipl.-Ing. Karl Diehl, Honorary Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Diehl Stiftung & Co. KG and a major pioneer in the economic history of Germany, peacefully passed away in his sleep in the early morning hours of 19 January 2008 at the age of 100.

Within the context of a cooperation agreement, Diehl Metall Stiftung & Co. KG, Röthen-bach, and Neue Materialien Fürth GmbH, Fürth, will cooperate in the future closely on the development and manufacture of magnesium components based on the magnesium injection-molding procedure.

With effect from December 1, 2007, the Shareholders of Diehl Stiftung & Co. KG, Nürnberg, have appointed Dipl.-Kfm. Claus Mänz-Siebje (66) to the company's Supervisory Board. As reported, Mr. Mänz-Siebje will leave the Executive Board on November 30, 2007 after Dipl.-Wirtsch.-Ing. Wolfgang Weggen (50) succeeded him as Executive Vice President in charge of the Finance and Controlling corporate department.

During a ceremony held on this 25th of October, the Bavarian Minister-President, Dr. Günther Beckstein, and the Honorary Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Diehl Stiftung & Co. KG, Nürnberg, Karl Diehl, will officially start the new steel synchronizer-ring production at Diehl Metall Röthenbach by symbolically pushing a button.

With effect from October 1, 2007, the Diehl Group has changed its organizational structure, as announced: the previous Diehl VA Systeme Corporate Division has been divided into two Corporate Divisions, Diehl Defence and Diehl Aerosystems.

With effect from September 1, 2007, the Supervisory Board of the Diehl Group has appointed Dipl. Wirtsch.-Ing. Wolfgang Weggen (49) to the Executive Board of Diehl Stiftung & Co. KG.

With retroactive effect from January 1, 2007, the Diehl Group, Nürnberg, has sold the majority shareholding in the Dutch stamping manufacturer, Metaalwaren-Fabriek Tilburg, to MFT Vogelsang Automotive GmbH (MVA), Kerpen, Germany.

The employees of the Diehl Group have come up with a very special idea for their senior head, Karl Diehl, in honor of his 100th birthday on May 4, 2007.

The Supervisory Board of Diehl Stiftung & Co. KG, Nürnberg, has appointed Claus Günther (53), Dipl.-Kaufmann (graduate in business management), as member of the Executive Board of Diehl Stiftung & Co. KG with effect from April 1, 2007.

Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Peter Grosch, member of the Executive Board of Diehl Stiftung & Co. KG and President of the Division Board of Diehl VA Systeme (Defence and Avionics), has resigned from these positions for personal reasons.

On March 1, 2007, the "Metall" Corporate Division of the Diehl Group, Nürnberg (Germany), took over the French company Augé Découpage SA in Besançon, which had been in financial difficulties since 2005. Augé's business will be operated in the future by the newly founded company Diehl Augé Découpage SAS.

Werner Dornisch, member of Diehl's Executive Board, in charge of the External Relations central department, will attain the age of 65 this year and leave Diehl to start his highly deserved retirement on July 1, 2007. He will, however, keep in close contact with Diehl.

At his own request, Dr. Jörg Fischer, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board, who has been in charge of the "Finance and Controlling" central department, will leave Diehl on December 1, 2006, to undertake his own entrepreneurial activities.

During a ceremony to which more than 100 international guests from politics, industry and authorities had been invited, the Managing Directors of JUNGHANS Feinwerktechnik GmbH & Co. KG, Dr. Gerhard Nowicki (CEO) and Elvira Olipitz, inaugurated another production complex and an office building at the company's new headquarters in Dunningen-Seedorf.

On Monday, September 11, 2006, the aviation equipment supplier Diehl Aerospace inaugurated a new development center for aeronautical systems in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Numerous renowned guests from politics and industry took part in the event in Rostock.

Successful performance demonstration firings of IRIS-T missiles

After Spain has, as the last of the six involved countries, approved the governmental agreement about the series production of the new missile IRIS-T, today, on October 27, 2003, the Bundesamt für Wehrtechnik und Beschaffung (BWB) (Federal Office for Military Technology and Procurement Technology and Purchase) has given the order to prepare the series production of the programme to the subsidiary of Diehl, BGT Bodenseewerk Gerätetechnik GmbH in Überlingen.

With the Helmut-Volz Medal, the highest distinction which is awarded by the Technical Faculty of Friedrich Alexander University in Erlangen-Nuremberg is going to the Director Central Technology of the Diehl group, Dr. Peter Kalisch.

Bodenseewerk Gerätetechnik GmbH (BGT) recently presented a new IR missile warning system for aircraft.

Building upon their cooperation during the current development phase of the Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS), Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control, Dallas/US, Diehl Munitionssysteme GmbH & Co.
